Edit! - Fixed it! See below...
Nope... still no luck.
I've continued to try a few different variations on the order of some of the suggested "fixes" - but I still get the same error message and no request from Windows. I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps this issue might be related to a Windows update...? There have been several waves of them recently...
I'm running Windows 7 x64 - how about you guys? Another point of curiosity - anyone know when exactly this problem started? I've only noticed it the past week or so when I tried to download a couple of my games to my laptop to play away from home. I hadn't downloaded anything from Origin for a while on either of my computers because most of my library was already installed. If this is a Windows Update issue, a narrower date range might help us figure out how to fix it.
Edit: Also, I forgot to mention - the laptop that has been having the same problem with Origin is running Windows 8. So I suppose if it is a Windows Update problem, that means there would have to be some feature of the update shared among Windows versions... Is it possible that the problems we're having could be linked to our Origin accounts? O.o
Fixed it, finally! After spending time with 8 different EA advisors, I have finally been able to download games... albeit obnoxiously. What finally worked was forcing an update of .NET Framework to the newest version. Then starting Windows in Safe Mode with Networking. I'm able to log in and download my Origin games while in Safe Mode... which I am doing right now... if all goes well, I'll have access to them properly when I start Windows normally. Good luck, guys!!!

I'm assuming there is no popup box for you to click, yes? Does it help to restart your machine with a Clean Boot before attempting the install again?

@20Aventador12 Hi,
Have you tried running the Origin Client as administrator?
Is your User Account Control activated and set to notify?
Cheers,
Nils

The next step would be to ensure that your security software isn't blocking anything. Please restart your machine in Safe Mode with Networking and see if it makes any difference. Your computer will be in a low-resolution mode when you restart, this is normal.
If this has no effect, please revert to normal mode, then check for any windows updates, and/or scan for malware.
