It gives an "update game" option, and then it will say the game is up to date, even though it is not. I'd also guess from this that if you purchased the game on the platform NOW, it would still not give the new version(so would be out of date).

ok I am uninstalling the EA app and I will NEVER support any EA games again. I will NEVER buy another EA game - this is a promise to myself.
Im going to buy this game on Steam. EA can go "do it" to themselves in a place where the sun mostly doesn't shine.

Going to go ahead and lock this thread as the tone and content is not acceptable for AHQ.
For any game updates like this it is the responsibility of the developer/publisher to make them available.
If an update is not currently available through Origin or the EA app then you will need to reach out to the dev/pub for further information as to why this is the case.

Hey all, this has been raised with the team here at EA and they are aware of the issues around the new Upgrade and are currently investigating but no further update or ETA is available at this time.
Will keep you all updated.
Accepting as solution for visibility.

I don't have origin installed anymore, I moved over to the new EA app and the update isn't available there, I have no idea how to download and reinstall origin since EA have discontinued supporting it.

Just checked in the EA App and the total Gigabyte isn't showing the total amount for the next gen upgrade.

So Witcher 3 does update through the Origin App which I had to reinstall. It is Witcher 3 updated to V4.0.
It plays just fine through the Origin App.
Now the other problem:
Witcher 3 on your new EA App is stuck at update required. If you click to update, it acts like it does but still stays stuck at update required. There is no option to play it.
So, I am now stuck with the EA App (for all games except Witcher 3) and Origin App (for Witcher 3).
Not to sound negative but did the EA App actually get tested enough? I mean this shouldn't be that hard and nor should it require two of your apps to play my purchased games.

I don't even get the 'update required' message on the EA App, no matter how many times I refresh the page or exit and restart the App it doesn't update or show any messages that one is available. I own the base game and all the DLCs so I should technically be eligible for it.
