EA Support Sucks

I have had the worst experience with EA Sports customer support as well as Origin performance. I first downloaded Origin after I purchased The Sims 4, and from the get go I was not able to log in because of it "not being able to connect to the server." I have been in contact with customer support for the last two days doing every "fix" they have suggested. Finally, I was sick of hearing " I am so sorry for your inconvenience" and "restart your computer and try this," so I got refunded. This is issue has been ridiculous to deal with and the customer service has been completely and mind-blowingly worthless to the fullest extent. Do better EA.

Sorry to hear that you are not happy with the live support advisers who tried to help you @Anonymous.

The error you were seeing generally points to an issue with your system connecting to the online servers for Origin.
