May 2020
Today I just wanted to relax and play an old game.I bought a code online for the game.
To my dissappointment I did not receive the code and had to buy it somewhere else. So I payed twice for the code.
To my dissappointment I needed an EA account. I just want to download the game and play. But OK, I created the EA account.
To my dissappointment I needed to install the Origin Client first, I really just want to download the game. But I downloaded the setup first.
To my dissappointment the setup gave me an error. The error looks kinda familiar, so I downloaded and installed VC_redist.x64.exe
To my dissappointment it did not help. F*ck, this really does look like a job right now. Well ok, do a clean install (image) of Windows 10.
To my dissappointment it did not help. Still the same error code. Yes the msvcp140.dll/vcruntime140.dll one. And yes I also installed the VC_redist.x64 after the install+updates.
Come on.... Multiple people with the same issues, this is not the way how you treat customers. People want to play a game and not troubleshoot issues all day.
This is costing me too much time right now. I close my account and take my loss.

I know this kind of thing can be super frustrating and hopefully all your free time for today is not all gone.
Those two specific .DLL files are important and the following specific steps should get you going:
