DRM and Origin ?

I wish to purchase Dead Space 2 and Crysis 2, which are offered for sale on your site.  I do not, however, buy games with any form of DRM.  Do these games contain DRM?  I gather that something called Origin is installed on the pc. What exactly does this consist of and what is its function ? What is installed ? Can it be easily removed when finished with the game ?

@Chaos_1138 Steam has DRM in plenty of the games they sell and so does uPlay or battle net. The only DRM free store is GOG. So i take it that you buy only from GOG?!

Yes, I only buy from GOG. 97 games so far.

When I got into pc gaming I had no idea what drm was,so I purchased a few steam games. I only buy from gog now.
