Well it's bad news.....still doesn't work......even tried a batch file from this forum, to clean up all traces of origin and reinstalled....

running out of ideas....sent the error report generated from my pc to EA but no response....

i would have thought that the origin program would capture non execution and generate an error code...or have a tool to trap the error..

Performed a restore on my pc, refreshed the OS but all apps gone ( did an image backup first )

now origin works perfectly......but still can't sign in to my Hotmail origin account, it says it's wrong or expired, but password change works ok....

now need to see which program interfered with origin...

may restore the image and uninstall 6 or so,programs at a time to try and find the culprit

long job though.....hoped EA could help more.....maybe can get my hotmail account back

update

managed to install and run an old version of origin 8.4.1.208 and it ran ok, had 2 options run in offline mode or update online

tried offline mode but it wouldn't let me sign in, so let it update and got the same issues.

have a list of the programs installed that the restore repair removed.....would any of these be causing a conflict... in the window above....

have many version MS redistributables installed, is this an isssue....

just phone EA in the UK, can't believe I was answered within 10 seconds.....5 minutes later my lost origin account was restored

waiting to receive an email from EA to allow me to extract pc data for ea to analyse.....maybe will sort out origin finally

NStill have the issue with origin. I phoned EA and was connected in minutes.....was in shock, ecoected hours of hanging on....I was meant to be sent an email requesting says info & dvxdiag info, bit it never arrived ( think the email address was written down wrong ) so I phoned again, was taken through some more steps ( which I had already tried ) then I sent the txt files plus a list of programs removed when I reset windows, in case any had a known conflict.

not had a reply yet......have ipuninstalled 60-70 programs that I don't need incl lots of MS stuff that I think are not required.....

going to try Origin again, then will make another image backup and start uninstalling some other programs until origin works.....I may end up with nothing installed, but then it must be a windows issue. (OMG)

will ill report back results

origin not working, am making another disk image and going to slowly uninstall ALL my programs, if origin doesn't work then, it must be a windows issue , which I do not know how to resolve, apart from a clean install.......but just for origin, that's crazy

ps used 10Bit uninstaller 7 FREE amazing as it does batch uninstalls....and software updates

If you install two antivirus programs and of course you want both of them active, it's not good, because every program wants to stay at the gate of the internet to defend your PC. It's as if there are two drivers at a single wheel and everyone wants to drive.

You have :

adaware antivirus

RogueKiller

I think you want to "blow in a yogurt" as you say, but a good antivirus is enough, there is no point in putting the computer in vain, working more with two weapons for the same enemies!

Choose only one of them, the other one uninstall.

Then ensure that your Firewall and/or Antivirus are not blocking the connection. The easiest way would be adding an exception for the Origin Client to the exclusion list.Add firewall/antivirus exceptions for Origin and open the needed portshttp://help.ea.com/en/article/connection-issues-with-origin/#1

Add antivirus exclusions (exceptions) specific files Origin, folders Origin or file extensions origin.ex from scanning.(very important to do )

I noticed the AV programs and uninstalled them just after making this list and added exception the the windows firewall

Had some more help from from EA, they have been very supportive.....tried 1st suggestions and didn't work, then tried

But now origin refuses to run ( launch) at all.....

so EA say there is nothing more they can do to help.....

clean installed W10 reactor edition and origin worked.....but not on my pc, even with all my programs uninstalled, so it's something that has modified windows.

suggested to EA that they code the next version of origin with an error trap code to detect a failed launch with an error code or log, so we can see what's going wrong
