Anybody interested in The Finals? [ Edited ]

@ZRuff46What good is destruction if support doesn't have any good gadgets? It was fun in previous games to use C4 to make a door if a team was camping the front.

*I quick replied this but my response kinda factors in the other post talking about more destruction in BF. Players need their tools to make the most of the game.

As for another post, new is good but they can always revisit old styles. Where are our arena shooters?

@Anobix I think is very reasonable. I'm mean look at bf4. That game had massive destruction. Siege of Shanghai had a skyscraper collapse all while running 64 players. It's possible but Dice is trying to be more like Call of Duty

Finals looks great. I've been watching streaming of it the past two days.

What does it remind me of?
- Destruction reminds me of Battlefield 3 Close Quarters DLC
- classes have a Team Fortress 2 vibe
- movement is like Apex Legends
- style of fhe maps reminds me of Mirror's Edge
- game modes remind me of Killzone 2 in a way
- maps are about the size of a TitanFall 2 map
- smooth and responsive gameplay

Mix all this together, and you've got something no one else is doing...in a market desperate for new shooter IPs.

And its next gen only....PS5, Xbox Series, PC...so its all in on what new hardware can do.

The Finals is definitely my go to shooter in the near future.

@BLADEWARRIOR447 The Finals is an Indie dev. So yeah, its time to realize that the big companies are not going to put out anything new. They are all just playing it safe...even Sony who ditched their FPS games and now is panicking over MS potentially owning COD.

DICE used to be an Indie dev when they made Battlefield to begin with...long before they were bought by EA, right? Indie devs just make fun games. That's their motivation.

@ZRuff46 Battlefield mixed with Apex Legends is kind of like 2042 is, and last I checked most of us was not super happy about that lol. I’ll check it out as an option, I’ve been a BF junkie for 20 years which is why I’m still here.

The first trailer hooked me right away but I'll need to wait for a console beta/release before I can test things; my laptop just can't handle it currently

@ATFGunr There's a difference though. This game is something new and different. It didn't start as something then try to transition away from it. Which is exactly what battlefield did. From what I've seen, the gunplay and destruction are kind of like battlefield being that the destruction is better in the finals. The art style and the character special skill are similar to how apex legends is. I like battlefield as it's much more of a realistic fps (not as much now as it use to be) but I think when it comes to competitiveness, I think The Finals is going to be incredible

Hey all,

This is a very interesting and healthy discussion and something we always like to see on the forums. 

However, since it has little to do with Battlefield 2042 directly, I've moved the topic to a more appropriate board.

I'm also looking forward to The Finals, looks great! I'm curious to see how it plays.
