Account disabled without warning. Now impossible to reactivate!

★★★ Newbie

My EA account was disabled without warning due to inactivity. My account was on an email address from years ago from when i was a kid. This has since been deactivated due to the amount of spam and nonsense.

Ive downloaded Fifa 22 after making a new EA account with my up to date email address which is the same as the one for my PS4 account. However my old EA account cant be unlinked!

EA disabled my account for ‘security reasons’ and now wont unlink my account, which i can not access, for ‘security reasons’. Therefore i am unable to access any EA online features again on my PS4.

Its an absolute joke! Why when im on the phone to EA support can they not just change it there and then. How is it that the only way it can be done is by me receiving an email on an email address that has been deactivated for 5 years. Pure nonsense. Such shameful customer service.

Hi @mboyne93 In order to make changes to your EA account, like linking and unlinking connected accounts you will need to be able to sign in to your account, If you are unable to do so you will need to speak with our support for further assistance as we are unable to offer help with this on Answers HQ.

Our time will need to verify your account and then can take a look at what options might be available. For creating a case I would recommend checking out our help article here (<--Link), I would share everything you have here with our team and they can take a further look into this.

Thanks!

I have already spoke to them. Like o said, i cant access the required email address as it has been  deactivated for 5+ years.

So because EA has disabled my account I cant unlink it as it is impossible for me to access it. You are the same as the person i spoke to on the phone, not actually taking in what I am saying and doing absolutely nothing productive to helping sort the problem that you as caused.

I'm in this same boat. I haven't played an EA game in PlayStation in years, so evidently my EA account is deactivated/delayed. Whatever email I used to register that EA account is gone, too. And no one in EA support can change this because I can't reactivate the account if I can't remember the email.

Now, I am completely unable to play BF2 on PlayStation because my PSN account is registered to a deactivated EA account that I can't access. I'm locked out of EA games on PlayStation forever, essentially.

Hi @mboyne93 @ElecArttemis To Confirm have you reached out to the email provider to see if they have any steps to try and recover the email? If not, if the email has been completely deleted you could try creating an email account with them and see if you can use the exact same email to see if you are able to get emails back.

Hi, yes i have and it is permanently deactivated. I have also tried creating an email in the same name and it is not possible.

You should try doing something on your side to fix this. It is EA’s ridiculous privacy policy that is stopping this issue been resolved. The policy is created by EA, there is nothing out of their hands that is stopping the issue been resolved.

@mboyne93 I would be happy to pass feedback along to my team. Currently, however we would not have additional steps to run through if we cannot recover access to the email.

How about just delete the account? It is an EA account, you are EA. What is actually stopping you deleting it? You are EA you make the rules for EA accounts. It’s seriously ridiculous.

They are a software company which blames customers for their poor processes. People set up new emails all the time. I didn’t even know I had an old acc my PSN was linked to so just set up a new one. I can’t delete PSN acc without loosing all my games
