EA Play: Game File Save Issue

I recently got a subscription for EA play on Steam and started trying out some of the popular games, such as Mirror's Edge Catalyst and Mass Effect: Andromeda. Everything runs smoothly, but as soon as I close the game application and reopen it, I must start all the way from the beginning. I've tried everything now to fix it, turning on cloud save, reinstalling the games, etc etc and nothing has worked. Is there a solution for this? Is this a Steam error? Is this an EA Play error? Is this an Origin error? Or is my computer at fault? Please help.
