Game loads in fine, i can hear all the audio for the game, music and background talking but as soon as either a cutscene runs and people start talking the audio doesnt come through. I have the same issue if i interact with someone. My mates audio is completely fine.

I just bought "A WAY OUT" and after installing, i ran the game.
There is NO CHARACTER DIALOGUE or voice acting when i am playing the game, although i can hear music and other sound effects. Only the character voices are missing.
My game language is in English US, there are not much audio options in-game so i left them as is. I have tried to reinstall the game and yet the problem persists.

As @holger1405 said, this sort of problem is usually the result of mis-configured speaker settings. Specifically, the device or game audio is configured to use a "Center Speaker" that doesn't exist. The music and background/sound effects play through the left/right channels just fine, but anything sent to the center channel isn't heard at all. And dialogue is usually set to play through the center speaker by default if the game thinks there is one.
(I first noticed this with my 5.1 surround rig when I plugged-in a headset while playing the version of "Solitaire" that shipped with WinXP. I would hear the deck being shuffled, but not the "ding" when placing a card on the pile!)

FIX: I opened my Realtek HD Audio Manager and changed Quadrophonic to Stereo. Apparently any other setting than stereo will cause this bug. Do this and restart your game. I hope it helps you guys

I tried that but I don't get an option to set it to stereo. It only says mono.

This is only a maybe PC fix as this would be useless on the xbox where most of the sound problems are.
As i am having the same issue.

Create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that with the "Browse" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.
