unable to connect to EA server to activate the sims 4

i just downloaded and installed the sims 4 through origin today. but as soon as i press the button play this error keeps showing "unable to connect to ea server to activate the sims 4" i tried almost everything there is from restarting to adding ports to removing cache and nothing works!

please help me fix this issue

Do you have security software running that might be blocking the connection?

No. And even if I did it wouldn't matter because I excluded all the origin and the sims 4 files from the firewall right?
