As usual I have to grieve over some miscreant insulting my trademark.

I run a website called Hardcore Games which is trademarked, wordmarked and its my intellectual property. I am under common law the proprietor.

Until Origin comes to its senses and removes the infringer I can only assume they are an accessory to personation underlaw

Origin cannot allow me to use my trademarked name, so there is an infringement

Hey @HardcoreGames if another user is already using the name then I'm sorry to say that it will not be possible for you to use it. 

The best thing to do is to try a variation on the name.

Hey @HardcoreGames I am not quite sure what the issue is, is it that you wish to change your username but another user is already using it?

I don't think a username counts as trademark infringement because it's not used for commercial purposes. Unless I'm mistaken, an unregistered trademark is more about protections against someone using your name to do business in the same field and geographical location.

Personation does not have to be commercial in nature, the law makes no distinction. Passing off as somebody is adequate cause of action.

If the party is not removed then I assume EA is an accessory to the personation which is another cause of action

Hey @HardcoreGames I'm locking this thread as it is not a discussion for AHQ. 

If the username you want to use has been taken by another user then you will be unable to use it.
