"Error syncing Cloud Storage data"

Was working fine yesterday and every other day since release but suddenly it does not want to sync with the cloud.

I have attempted to re-install origin, run as admin, reset router, turn off firewall but nothing seems to work!

Is anything down at EA that would cause this?

Make sure you have Cloud Storage On in Origin and follow this steps:

Clear Origin cache https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/origin-my-games-list-is-blank

Delete temp files: open the Start Menu and type %temp%  in the Search field  or click in the Run option in the Start Menu and type %temp% in the Run field.Press Enter and a Temp folder should open. You can delete all files found in this folder, and if any files are in use, they can be skipped.

Restart your machine.

Perform a Clean Boot https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/FAQ/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

Run the setup file Origin with Admin rights  http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator/#2

Go in Origin / My Game Library -right click on game icon ,select Repair and Update Game.Now see if your issue persists.

No luck, tried each step individually one after another but still get the cloud error message. Is it possible the data has been corrupted in the cloud?

Unfortunately the "Restore Save" button is greyed out for me, any other suggestions?

Hi @elskimo

Another saved games are stored in the user 'my documents' folder allowing each user login on the PC their own saves. This is how to restore a local save to overwrite a cloud save for your EA games  https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/origin/origin/backing-up-origin-game-saves/

Managed to solve the issue, the problem was with my OneDrive folder which included My Documents. I just restored the files from Microsoft's cloud  and it boots up no problem. The issue was quite simple, Origin could not access my cloud file in My Documents so did not know the status of the local/cloud save so could not sync. The Origin error message was too vague, a more detailed one would have highlighted the issue sooner.
