origin overlay closes instantly after opening

i've tried closing all other overlay programs, aswell as re-installing origin.

There is a list available of all the programs that might cause a conflict with Origin: http://help.ea.com/nz/article/programs-that-may-cause-conflicts-with-origin/

In order to rule out that they interfere, I would recommend trying to run a clean boot and see how you get on with the overlay then: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

What caused this for me was DisplayFusion (steam version). Closing this program resolved the issue for me

Yup, after trying to fix this for a couple of hours, it was display fusion causing the issue for me too. Thanks!

Thanks! It was DisplayFusion on Steam for me too. Sucks that I'll have to close it every time I want to play multiplayer (though with all the constant lags and crashes I get I'll probably never get into this mp as much as I did with ME3).

The fact that conflict with such widely used application as DisplayFusion persists after whole 2,5 years is beyond ridiculous. Please let someone know that it should be finally fixed.

News flash: Origin is ridiculous! Oh and it still does this, came here having the same problem.

Yeah I have this problem also and if it is DisplayFusion that causes this then i'm not disabling it everytime I decide to use Origin, it took nearly 4 or so Years to just implement a Download Limit feature, EA has plenty of money, i'm sure they could solve this clash with DisplayFusion, but it seems like even after 2 years they're still just letting it slide...ridiculous management.
