my world will load, but my sims won't

I allowed my sims 4 to update through Origin as normal but once I logged back on and started up my gameplay again. It loaded everything but my sim and all the other sims around me! like I still can be it do things like take a shower or eat food but the sims are nowhere to be seen. I have tried to restart origin and my laptop and all but I'm still getting the same result. 

I have a feeling its something to do with the update but idk

@b3thany03  Try repairing the game in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.

What troubleshooting steps have you taken? What is the exact issue you have?
