Hey folks. I'm currently having a big issue trying to install Origin. The issue is that once it is installed, the new updates downloads. When the update tries to install the program tells me that it is corrupt and sends me a link to follow to download the newest version. I do a fresh download (the original was a fresh download anyway) and try again. But the problem doesn't change.
I also run into another issue where origin downloads the update, then the origin update window disappears without anything else coming up.
I contacted EA support, they told me to remove Origin from my computer via the uninstall, regeit and going into the installation drive and removing all files that way. Nothing seems to be working. I am running Windows 10 64 bit and using a SSD. I am not installing Origin to the C:drive though, I am trying to install it to the G drive (500gb HDD).
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

@ElementalRanger2 Just to double check, does the installation complete successfully if you do install it on C drive? You could also try doing a Clean Boot and then do the Origin installation to make sure no other program is interfering.
Let us know how you get on!

Also went into the installer properties and unblocked everything it tries to install. To no avail...

@ElementalRanger2 That is strange!
Is your Windows fully up to date? What antivirus/firewall do you use? Also did you download the Origin setup file from this page?
Thanks!

I cannot get into windows update so will need to get onto microsoft about fixing that.
I downloaded the setup from that link originally, then followed the link on screen to here https://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe
I currently only use MalwareBytes and Windows Defender, but both are currently disabled and I manually scan my PC every week.
I also have a log for the updater that reads:

After having a look at this I thought that if I change the permissions in program data, it may work. Again I got no where!

@ElementalRanger2 What about just running the setup with Admin rights (just right click the setup file and select 'Run as Admin')? Even if MalwareBytes/Windows Defender are disabled, could you still add the exceptions for Origin.exe and OriginSetup.exe?
Thanks!
