Hi, have you run a malware scan? Such ads are usually due to malware/adware affecting your Edge/Internet Explorer, hopefully a quick scan with an anti-virus will help.

Re: how to stop pop ads when logging into origin?

i have suddenly started the getting the same sort of things when i log onto origin via desktop app in windows. it loads fine and shows my homepage, but if i choose store or vault etc then it seems to stall and load a pop up window first over the window playing an ad for insurance or a mobile game! this pop up window has the origin logo on its bar! i have run kaspersky antivirus and MBAM and neither have found anything. this is only happening with the origin launcher. just incase i have changed all my passwords. what should i do? uninstall origin and start again??

brand new pc, loaded Origin, to find pop up every time you open, and repeated even after closing, of local naked ladies waiting satisfaction.

never happened before, so why now on a brand new 1 day old PC? windows 10.

Re: how to stop pop ads when logging into origin?

Use Malwarebytes free edition. As for the why...i would suggest to look into your browser navigation history and in the cookies folder. If someone else than you has access to the PC or if you are visiting certain sites, you are bound to get a nasty.

As a decent free protection combo i suggest to have Malwarebytes free, a firewall of your choosing (Windows Firewall is okay, TinyWall is expanding the functionality of Windows Firewall and if you have money to burn i recommend the paid version of Zone Alarm - those are your top choices, free or paid, and they are the most user friendly) and a decent antivirus (BitDefender free or Panda free are good choices, lightweight and less ads than the likes of Avast, Avira or AVG).

I do not work for EA and i am not associated with the company in any way. I am a player just like you, trying to help wherever i can.I will not answer to any unsolicited PM.

I finally found the origin of these frightening popup in origin. This is a DNS hijack, this creates the popup when the origin is launched, for this use the following tool: "Hijackthis" scan locating entries like this:
O17 - DHCP DNS 1: 82.163.142.9
O17 - DHCP DNS 2: 95.211.158.137
O17 - HKLM \ System \ CCS \ Services \ Tcpip \ .. \ {7d6830e8-a984-44b9-898a-06b429bbc55f}: [NameServer] = 82.163.142.9
O17 - HKLM \ System \ CCS \ Services \ Tcpip \ .. \ {7d6830e8-a984-44b9-898a-06b429bbc55f}: [NameServer] = 95.211.158.137
O17 - HKLM \ System \ CCS \ Services \ Tcpip \ Parameters: [NameServer] = 82.163.142.9
O17 - HKLM \ System \ CCS \ Services \ Tcpip \ Parameters: [NameServer] = 95.211.158.137
proceed to remove them and re-start your windows.
After 3 days I at least solve, I hope you find it useful

You must use the hijackthis.exe application (you can download it from https://www.infospyware.com/antimalware/hijackthis/) and run it on your pc, once you enter the application you must click on the option "Do system scan and save a logfile ", the application will begin to locate all suspicious entries in the registry
Locate the following entries in the application:
O17 - DHCP DNS 1: 82.163.142.9
O17 - DHCP DNS 2: 95.211.158.137
O17 - HKLM \ System \ CCS \ Services \ Tcpip \ .. \ {7d6830e8-a984-44b9-898a-06b429bbc55f}: [NameServer] = 82.163.142.9
O17 - HKLM \ System \ CCS \ Services \ Tcpip \ .. \ {7d6830e8-a984-44b9-898a-06b429bbc55f}: [NameServer] = 95.211.158.137
O17 - HKLM \ System \ CCS \ Services \ Tcpip \ Parameters: [NameServer] = 82.163.142.9
O17 - HKLM \ System \ CCS \ Services \ Tcpip \ Parameters: [NameServer] = 95.211.158.137

Select the following and click on the "Fix Checked" button to remove them, re-start to pc and verify.
I hope you find it useful, as always a pleasure to help,
