Hi, as well as running the AV software, you may need to manually uninstall the offending program in Windows and/or reset your internet explorer.

Thanks for replying. I've managed to solve the problem by restoring the hosts file, apparentlly this issue is caused by some malware that sets some * up domains to your localhost, running AV or cleaners, manually uninstalling or reseting the inernet explorer won't get the job done. At least that was it for me, I hope this can help anyone else.

Thanks for the info, that's very helpful. We perform the hosts file reset for some other issues, we can start using it for cases like this too.

It's been a while since you posted this, thus you may have gotten it already, but I'm answering it either way. I used Host Mechanic to reset the hosts file, it's quicker than resetting it manually. Afterwards I decided it was also a good idea to block some known malicious domains trough the hosts file.

https://www.bestvpn.com/blog/41159/use-your-hosts-file-to-block-ads-and-malware/   This link shows how to block domains. I attached a .txt with a list of malicious domains. You just copy the domains from this .txt and paste it to your hosts file and before doing the blocking stuff create a backup for your hosts file just in case you accidentally mess something up.

Only happens with Origin

is Origin the malware?

Usually if you're seeing ads on Origin there's some sort of ad/malware attached to Internet Explorer/Edge. Be sure to try the troubleshooting steps in this thread, hopefully they'll help.
