how to retrieve a saved game from an external USB

I just got a new computer and I want to play Sims 4 on it. I saved my Sims onto an external flash drive, thought I was moving a copy to the EA folder (also tried moving it to the Origin folder as well) but when I go into Origin to play, it doesn't recognize the copy and it's reading as if it's my first time playing and I have to start from scratch and I really don't want to do that. What am I doing wrong? Thx in advance!

@Dove0105   Are you playing in Windows or macOS?   Let me know, and I can move this thread to one of the Sims sections.

Either way, please list the file path of the folder you moved from the flash drive to internal storage.  In Windows, the file path will be in a File Explorer window, above the list of files.  In macOS, right-click (or hold down the control key and click) on the folder and select Get Info; copy the part under "where."  You can delete your username, but leave the rest of the file path intact.
