@muffinwife Try clearing Origin's cache (Windows) or running the Origin reset tool (macOS):

https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
Restart your computer, sign into Origin, and check your game library. If Sims 3 still isn't there, try searching for it—you might be able to force a download from the store page within hte Origin app, as long as the store recognizes you own the game. Otherwise, you'll need to contact EA customer support for help.

Hi @muffinwife.
If you redeemed the product code on your EA Account you shouldn't need to claim it again. If you have the Origin client installed you should see The Sims 3 in your Library where you can then download and install the game.
If you open up Origin are you able to see The Sims 3 there? Are you still getting an error message when you're trying to download the game?

Hi @muffinwife.
Were you able to try clearing out the Origin cache? Are you still not able to see the game in your Library?
