Why is deleting my account so complicated?

My EA account is always having attempted logins and I just want to delete it because I do not use it anymore. Whenever I look for help, I get this link which leads to no where because the contact button and the webpage doesn't work. Why is it so hard to delete my account? Even if I get in contact with an EA staff member, I've seen so many reports about how they're persistent on keeping your account. 

Any help would be appreciated.

Then select 'PC

Manage my Account'

Can't log in

Finally, you can choose to receive a callback or begin a chat.
