Why does Origin keep telling me the servers are down at this time?

★ Novice

Why does Origin keep telling me the servers are down at this time? This has been happening for a week now. I have reinstalled the origin software and tried to reset the Sims 4 game. Now I need the Game key and I can't get it because Origin won't log into the servers. I have a macintosh that meets all the requirements and we haven't changed the system configuration.

Did you try to clear your DNS cache? Have you contact your Network service provider?

@Dustierchair @Chitakia

Are you running 10.10.5 Yosemite?

@Dustierchair

You need to upgrade to a later version of macOS as there is an issue with Origin on Yosemite which EA are looking into. There is a main thread here about it with more information - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/MAC-Origin-servers-temporarily-unavailable/m-p/6970760#M2...

Locking this thread as there are so many on this problem but please feel free to comment in the main one if you need further help Standard smile

@Chitakia

If you are also running Yosemite please follow the link above and upgrade to El Capitan or later. If you are not, please start your own post with a detailed description of your problem and what computer you are using Standard smile
