I updated my origin account/app & now Sims 4 will not respond even after restarting computer multiple times.

If you right-click the game panel in Origin then choose the repair option that's available, does that help?

If the issue persists, is there any error message, or how does it fail?

Repairing the game doesn't help. I get no error message except that The Sims 4 is not responding.

Ok, thanks. Next, please try a Clean Boot.  This will help to check if any 3rd party programs are interfering with the game.

Any other suggestions that might make the game run?

Make sure that you are running Origin in administration mode

.
Ensure that.... your Firewall and/or Antivirus are not blocking the connection|Sims 4. The easiest way would be adding an exception for the Origin Client.

If that doesn't work, you may need to manually uninstall Origin, reboot your computer and then download a new client from the Origin website.

And I would recommend checking Task Manager to make sure that Sims 4 process is not running look for

Sims4.exe..
