Update in order to play the sims 4

Do I need Internet to update the sims 4? I don't have internet right now and it says I have to update it in order to play. It says an unexpected error has occurred. And it's error: 196632:0 what does that mean?

That error means that Origin cannot connect to the server to download the required update. You will need to have internet access to download the update before you can play your game again. If you do not currently have service at home perhaps you could go to a friend's home and use their connection to get the update you need.
