Unable to connect to Origin?

Hello, When I start up The Sim 3 (Currently University) The message comes up 'Unable to connect to Origin'

I have updates Origin recently to see if that worked and it didn't make a difference. I had to manual install the new patch for The Sims 3 because it wouldn't connect.

Any ideas how to re-connect Origin?

P.S. Origin itself works, just when I open the game it doesn't connect.
