The Sims 3 and Origin Downloading HELP!!!!!

I just updated my computer to Windows 8.1  and when I tried to play The Sims 3, I could not update Origin to play the game.  I can't even open Origin to get to the game.  When I put the disk in my computer and click on the pop-up tab, the only option I have is to run AutoRun.  If I chose this option, my PC says that The Sims 3 is already installed.  I don't know what to do to make it work and all I want to do id play the game!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!
