I received an email to the special section for the SWBF Closed Alpha forum in AnswerHQ but I have no access, yet I am playing the game right now. Is this a bug? Or do they have to give you access manually.

Hey guys, there can be issues with getting the access automatically applied to your account. Please try logging out and back in, then check again.
There have been some issues with logins, these seem to be resolved now, so hopefully you guys will be able to access the board without further problems.

If you have access it should also be visible on the front page of AHQ.
Thanks.

During the development, the programmers have an objective in mind, and if the graphics companies are cooperating, they get to test new GPU designs before those are released, and the graphics companies have access to Alpha copies of all major releases, although nVIDIA, as a bad example, is very uncooperative in general in both directions.
It is only in the final 5 to 6 weeks, as the game closes in on going gold, that the actual results of their work can be revealed, in terms of minimums, particularly.
This game has many months to go before that stage, and you will have as much access to the public announcements as the community here has.

Thanks Gorath for the info.

Just curious what criteria you're using to select candidates for participation in the Battlefront closed alpha? Is it entirely random, based on game ownership, or contingent on any settings within Origin? Is there anything we can do to improve our odds of selection?

Players were chosen at random, unfortunately there's nothing players can do to increase their chances.

So, I know that a random selection of Origin users have been selected. There is also a website to sign up for the alpha.. Does this website have any purpose? Will people who were not emailed be able to apply? As of now that website seems a bit misleading as it does not let you apply at all. Thanks!
