Sims 4 won't launch

Cannot start because required game data is missing or damaged. Please repair or reinstall the game via Origin.

I am not able to reinstall the game via Origin, nothing happens when I click the uninstall-button. I uninstalled Origin manually and downloaded it again. Is anyone experiencing the same problem, what worked with you?

@sararus  Does your computer run Windows or macOS?  Are you running the standard version of Sims 4 or the Legacy Edition?
