Sims 4 installing

★★★ Newbie

Hey,

Was wondering if anyone had any luck installing the Sims 4, because I am definatly not. I cant seem to get past going onto origin, i have logged in but it says the game cannot be downloaded at the moment. What is going on? I was and have been a fan of the sims since the sims 1 days, but i can safely say im not going to buy another EA game if they don't clean up their act!!

@doglover7123  Hi,

First off, make sure that you are running the Origin Client as administrator, so that it has sufficient rights to create folders and write files on your system partition: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator/

Please check out this article here afterwards. We have had reports of downloads reverting when the file system for the partition is set to FAT32. This is due to a limitation, files larger than 4GB cannot be written. Read more about that here: http://help.ea.com/en/article/origin-download-stops/

Next, check your power/hibernation settings to ensure that your hard drive doesn't turn itself off after a certain period of time. Otherwise the download might always fail after a certain period of time as it would be unable to write data onto your drive.

If that isn't the issue, please try to download the game using Safe Mode Downloading. You can activate that by going to Origin > Application Settings > Advanced > Safe Mode Downloading

Let me know how you get on afterwards.

Thank you,

Nils
