Sims 4 Play button is unclickable, game unlaunchable

Trying to launch Sims 4 through Origin. I have not played in a month or two. The "Play" button is in shadow, unclickable. An "Update Available" message appears below, but it is unclickable. I right click directly on the game in the My Games tray and select Update, but nothing happens. Game is unlaunchable Please help.

Exit Origin and then open it as an Admin and see if it's able to download.

Ok, but I have no idea what you just said .

Exit Origin completely by clicking Origin -> Exit in the menu at the top.

Then right click on the Origin icon on your desktop (or wherever it is located) and choose "Run as Administrator"

Chat tech support had me > Repair Game > Update. Seems to be working now . Thank you for the tip
