Hey, Basically I had to get my laptop wiped as Windows made me do an update and then it messed up my whole laptop so ive redownloaded origin and signed into my origin account but every time I press download a thing pops up and has where I want to store the sims 4 and what packs I want to download at this moment but there is no confirmation button and just an x so I pressed the x its says preparing for a few minutes and then just goes back to download again I'm so confused and I just want to play the sims 4 Please help me- Jess

Clear Origin cache https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/origin-my-games-list-is-blank/
Delete temp files: open the Start Menu and type %temp% in the Search field or click in the Run option in the Start Menu and type %temp% in the Run field.Press Enter and a Temp folder should open. You can delete all files found in this folder, and if any files are in use, they can be skipped.
Restart your machine.
Run the setup file Origin with Admin rights http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator/#2
Perform a Clean Boot https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/FAQ/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
NOTE if your issue persists go to the Origin client, click on Origin / Application Settings / Diagnostics- and from there enable Safe Mode Downloading.
