Recognizing Battlefield Installed on an External Drive

[ Edited ]

I installed BF4 on an external drive and have arrived at a new computer. I want it to recognize the game and not force me to reinstall it. Any tips? I have 584 GB left on the external drive (even with the game already installed).

I tried having it install the game over the existing BF4 in hopes that it discovers that the files already exist, but it leads to it forever "Preparing Download..."

@H4th Hi,

Check out this article here, it will explain how you can skip the big download: http://help.ea.com/en/article/backing-up-and-restoring-your-origin-games/

Essentially you will need to start a new installation process (make sure you choose a separate folder), pause once it has started, then copy all the files over, then click on download again. It will take some time but it should sync up without it requiring to reinstall entirely.

Cheers,

Nils
