Payment issues?

I'm sure this gets asked all the time, but i can't seem to find an answer. 

I just tried to buy a game on sale, and was told my card payment could not be processed. This has never happened before, and I've used this card in the past on Origin. I checked on my banking app and £1 has been taken, and on my EA account, the purchase is still showing as pending. Normally i'd just wait a while and see what happens, but i don't want to miss out on the sale, also don't want to use an alternative payment method and be charged twice.
