My Origin won't open. I've deleted and reinstalled the program more than once. In fact, I think I've done it four or five times by now. My problem started when origin said it needed to update. It didn't do anything for three hours. So I thought I messed something up with the update and I tried to restart it. Now it just won't open. Since I have a Mac, it starts to "jump" and then doesn't open. It's driving me insane.

Are you running any security software? That isn't clear to me at the moment.

Hi,
It sounds like a program on your system blocked the Origin update which keeps it from launching. Have a look at our Mac troubleshooting thread for steps on how to update your client:

Hi,
Can you try resetting Origin on your system: https://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
Please also make sure that there aren't any security programs running that could be blocking Origin.

Hi!! I have a similar problem. IN the latest update, I got an error message saying it didn't update correctly ( I don't remember why, maybe because of connectivity issues?) and now I am unable to open the origin app. Mine also does the "jumping up and down than stopping" thing. I do not run any security software on my MAC laptop. I have tried the reset origin option a total of 6 times, and have tried uninstalling Origin and re-dwonloading it. Hopefully you can help!! I just want to care for my mayor whiskers!! :D

I don't know how you uninstalled Origin but the proper way to do it is to run the reset tool, trash the Origin app from your Applications folder, empty the trash, restart your Mac then re-download Origin.

@M7PUD If you cannot force quit the app or game then the best thing to do is restart your system and then run through the steps.
