Hi EA,
Number one I want to say I love your games :D and heard you have an excellent customer support and I look forward to getting through this problem quickly. This morning Origin needed an update, but after I clicked yes on the permissions for the "UpdateTool" a message pops up saying "Something went wrong during the installation. Please reinstall Origin" I close out of that and another message pops up saying "Your update could not be completed. Please download and install the latest version of Origin from (a really long web address)". I have tried reinstalling it about 5 times, and uninstalling the old version and installing the new one from the secound pop up message. Nothing seems to work so I am hoping I could get some help from the experts
Thanks EA!

Make sure you run your system in a clean boot and you should be able to completely delete all files.

When can I expect a reply

First thing to do -check Time / Date in your PC.
Manually uninstall Origin http://help.ea.com/en/article/manually-uninstalling-origin/
Run CCleaner http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-use-ccleaner-to-fix-pc-issues/
Now clear Origin cache and for this you get a perfectly detailed post from @EA_Nils >> http://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin/my-origin-will-not-update-my-sims-4/m-p/4721983#M163410
Restart your machine
Install Origin https://www.origin.com/en-ie/download
NOTE if your issue persist I would suggest you to perform a Clean Boot http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
All my best. My Opinion is no more important or right than yours.
I am just a gamer wich trying to help another gamer.
I do not work for EA.

@Czar_Mitchell so your issue has been solved or not ?
I can't help you if you don't comeback with an update.

Hey @JosephXL I am locking this thread as it is quite old.
I would recommend not judging a user by their profile picture as many myself include use characters we like.
