Origin thin setup doesn't open

[ Edited ]

So my origin client wasn't loading fully so I tried to clear origin cache it didn't work. So I decided to reinstall the client. I uninstalled origin, trying to install origin by opening origin thin setup as an administrator. It doesn't open. I tried clean boot. disabling firewall and antivirus nothing of these work

I am trying to open a new fresh origin setup

If that did not help @DocZxL444 then please try the following steps:

  1. Try re-installing Origin:
    1. Close the Origin client.
    2. Open the Control Panel (find it by searching “Control Panel” in the Start menu).
    3. Click on Uninstall a program under Programs.
    4. Click on Origin and uninstall.
    5. Reinstall Origin

Try running Origin as an administrator:

  1. Close the Origin client.
  2. Right-click the Origin client icon on your desktop (or in the Origin directory if not on your desktop) and click Run As Administrator.

This runs the Origin client as an administrator account, and should let the game  install.

Try lowering the User Access Control settings:

  1. Close the Origin client.
  2. Click the Windows button and type "UAC" in the search field.
  3. In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest setting available.
  4. Click Ok at the bottom of the window.
  5. Open the Origin client and try installing again

Let me know how you get on.

Sorry to hear that you are having issues @DocZxL444.

Can you provide a little more information as to the issue that you are seeing? A screenshot showing your Origin issue would be great if you could share one as the more info we have the better we can help.

Clearing the Origin Cache should fix your issue in no time @DocZxL444

You can clear the Origin Cache by following the steps below:

  1. Completely log out and close down Origin
  2. Hold down the Windows key and R
  3. Type in "%ProgramData%" (without quotes) and click OK
  4. Now open the Origin folder.
  5. Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for LocalContent (do not delete this one)
  6. Hold down the Windows key and R
  7. Type in "%AppData%" (without quotes) and click OK
  8. This will take you to a Roaming folder, which is located inside of AppData. Delete the Origin folder
  9. Click on the word "AppData" at the top of your window
  10. Open the Local folder here
  11. Delete the Origin folder listed here
  12. Restart your PC and log back into Origin

I understand that you cleared the Origin cache @DocZxL444 but would you mind doing it a second time and ensure that you do not skip any steps as the issue in your screenshot should be fixed by clearing the Origin Cache.

If Origin is running in the background then the best thing to do is go through the following steps:

  • In task manager end "Origin", "OriginWebHelperservice" and "OriginThinSetupInternal"
  • Open you Origin install folder
  • Delete the file "OriginThinSetupInternal'
  • Right click on Origin and then select "Troubleshoot compatibility"
  • Click "Try recommended settings" and then"Test the program"
  • Save the settings in the compatibility troubleshooter.
  • Origin will prompt you that you are using a compatibility setting. Click continue.
  • Once done launch Origin

Let me know how you get on
