I had a similar problem recently. Basically Origin was working fine until today where it would Log me in, minimize itself to the system tray and be COMPLETELY disfunctional (No right clicking, no game launching etc) and the only way to close it was to force close it via task manager. I would also get the "Connecting to origin" and eventual freeze.
This is what I tried which didnt work:
1) Resolution "fix", dropping resolution and reverting.
2) Reinstalls.
3) Clearing origin temps/pc temp.
4) Deactivating antivirus, portforwarding, rebooting router etc.
What worked for me was this:
1) Run command prompt as admin.
Follow these codes in progression and press enter for each.
2) ipconfig /flushdns
3) ipconfig /registerdns
4) ipconfig /release
5) ipconfig /renew
6) netsh winsock reset
7)After all these codes have been entered one by one, I restarted my pc and all works fine Good luck!

Yep. That worked for me, too. Thanks.

Hi,
the quickest fix that works for me is the following:
- go to the task-manager
- quit the OriginWebHelperService Task
- restart your PC
Now Origin should run
pls let me know if that was also helpful to you
