Origin fails to execute after new installation

★★ Novice

Origin will not run on my system - there is something seriously screwed up with this software.  The install process creates the Origin folder.  However, when I open the folder, almost immediately the executable disappears from the folder.  If I go to START to run Origin, I get "Windows cannot access the spcified device, path, or file.  You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

This is a new Win7-64 system that otherwise works perfectly, and I am the sole user/administrator for this system.  I'm feeling like I just wasted a lot of money.

I have 16gb or memory, plenty of disk space and an otherwise rock solid Win7 environment.  But I've never seen any product ever delete files simply by opening the folder.  Very bizarre behavior, but at the end of the day, I'm out a lof of money.  Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, this is just a post?  Where the **bleep** do I find someone to help?  Is this some Chinese rip-off?
