Latest Version of Origin not Installing

Hi all!
So I've run into a problem with my Origin. When I click on my Sims 4 game to start playing it keeps taking me to a screen that says Origin is installing the latest version. But what it does is it fills up the bar and then starts over again. And it'll do it for hours. So my computer is NOT frozen but it's like it's on a never ending loop. If I close out of Origin and try to launch my game again it makes me sign in but then I can't play in online mode.
Can anyone help??

I had this problem as well and have tried everything I could think of.

As a last resort, I uninstalled origin and tried installing via my Sims 4 game disc and after two occasions of asking to use the updatetool it said that the update tool was missing and asked that I reinstall via Origin however when I try to run the .exe file, nothing happens not even on my processes screen on Task Manager.

Hey @donotknow2 I'm locking this thread as it is quite old.

Can you ensure that your firewall and anti-virus are not blocking Origin and that you also have the ports for Origin open.

The ports to open are:

• TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
• UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

You can also try turning off the routers firewall to see if it helps.
