How do I know if sims4 ce row code still works

I am selling a Sims 4 Collector Edition box, but I would like to know if the code will work so the person who will get it will be able to play it. Can you help me find out if I can check if it's still valid or not?

If you have already used the code @Butt3rflies13 then it is not possible for anyone else to redeem it as once redeemed the code is tied to the account it was redeemed to.
