Help Please!

I've been playing the Sims 3 for years but recently I had an account bug that I had fixed. But now due to the latest update (I'm not keen on the fact that origin HAS to update quite literally every day) origin has done something strange both our family computers. Done something strange as in about three to five mins after logging in, the screen of my computer freezes. Is this something to do with java? Or origin? I love the sims!! 

Extra info: 
One computer is Intel core 3 
One computer is Intel core 5 
This only happens when I shut down. If I ctrl alt del then around five mins later it responds and works just fine

This is most likely being caused by a program running in the background. Please try running the system in a clean boot to see if the issue persists. Additionally, make sure that you always run Origin as administrator.
