Friending

I have no problem with getting "friends" in Simpsons Tapped Out, but when someone asks to "friend" me, I inevitably get a message that says:

"Uh oh!  Something went wrong...

Sorry, an unexpected error occured.

Please try again."

I have yet to successfully friend anyone through this method, as I get this error consistently.
