Manually uninstall Origin http://help.ea.com/en/article/manually-uninstalling-origin/
Run CCleaner http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-use-ccleaner-to-fix-pc-issues/
Restart your machine in Safe Mode with Networking.
Now install Origin https://www.origin.com/en-ie/download
Exit from S.M. w.N.
Run the setup file Origin with Admin rights http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator/#2
NOTE if your issue persist you can try a Clean Boot:
-you need to press the key combination: “Windows Key + R”;
In the “Run” window, type the message “msconfig” without quotes;
-you need to left click on the “OK” button;
Select “General” tab, from the toolbar and chose the feature called “ Selective startup”;
-uncheck the box found in the left of the message: “ Load startup items”;
Select “Service” tab, from the toolbar;
-check the box in the left of message: “Hide all Microsoft services”;
Left click on the “Disable all” button, found on the lower-right side of the window;
Left click on the “OK” button;
-a new message box will prompt on your display. Left click on the “Restart” button in order to restart your operating system.
NOTE save any open files and close all programs before restarting your computer.
And clear Origin cache and for this you get a perfectly detailed post from @EA-Nils>>http://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin/my-origin-will-not
I wait your feedback,mate.

I presume if that doesn't work I should wipe my hard drives and reinstall the system and if that fails go get a new computer and install origin again... you might've as well wrote 'have you tried turning it off and on again?'. Beside I paid good few quids for my games, am I really expected to install 3rd party software now so I can remove the messy installation of origin so it can update and connect to ea servers? I'm not happy about it one bit and the fact that this is the only response to this issue despite dozens of people reporting that they had similar problems is even more concerning.
