I've tried to get in contact about an issue with missing items on FIFA 18 FUT for several days, but when it comes to the end where I select contact option, the Request live chat button is greyed out no matter what I do. I've tried it in 3 different browsers and done every possible suggestion found through Google. This is ridiculously bad -_-

Does not help me at all, I already know where to find help, the problem is the last step of actually getting to the chat which it gives me the option to select, like shown in the image

In that link you can find Social Media option, it means you can contact support via Twitter or Facebook Please read the information carefully.

I was aware, but I would've preferred to use EAs own live chat. But I guess I have no choice

Hmm, could you please check Live Chat if you select a topic: Manage my account and select an issue:Can't login? I know that these topics are different from your problem, anyway try.

I can't find the option you suggest, but I have tried different games, account and problems to try and get through, but the same issue is there. Is there anywhere I can create a written case/send email?

Restart your machine.
Run the setup file Origin with Admin rights http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator/#2
You need to open Origin through Internet Explorer and follow the steps indicated by @IIPrest0nII absolutely.
-For Live Chat try to use Internet Explorer and you need to change your country of residence to the United Kingdom (UK) from the menu at the top of the screen.
- In most countries are available between 09:00-21:00 Monday-Saturday.
