I already tried repairing the game, reinstalling the game, deleting origin cache, resetting internet explorer settings, disabling data execution prevention. Drivers are up to date.

I think you can try a Clean Boot: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

-if the problem persists, disable Tracking Protection and/or ActiveX Filtering and reboot.

Solved your question ? ...please hit Accept As Solution on the post they did so others know it worked or have the curtsy to say " Thanks, but it didn't work "

The clean boot worked! Now I'll try and isolate which service was in conflict

Astonishingly, it's a conflict with both Razer Synapse 2.0 and Dropbox. There must be something wrong with my system Disappointed

You just need to lock these two programs  when you open Origin and start playing, then put the game in the bar, open Razer Synapse and continue to play the game.

There is nothing wrong with your system,Razer Synapse,DropBox and Origin with not working well together.

Sigh.  I spent days trying to solve my problem with ntdll.dll.  I ran Google searches and searches in this forum, yet I somehow never got to this thread.  Maybe the BETA in the title kept me from looking at it?

Anyway, as many years as I've been running Win7, I had never messed with msconfig.  Your advice worked perfectly.  I just can't have Razer Game Scanner running when I start the game.

The wife is going to be some kind of mad at me, because when I still couldn't resolve the issue after 2 clean Windows installs (the game would work just fine until a reboot), I determined that there must be a hardware problem.  There were a couple of other clues (oddly long pauses in other stuff, even on a fresh install), so there might have been something going on there, but I did spend $700 upgrading the core of my machine...
