Does Origin works?

I installed Origin and downloaded Command and Conquer Ultimate Collection....Game isn't launching and keep open the music library, I downloaded Mirror's edge Catalyst...game isn<t launchin because it says I'm not connected to internet and my internet is just working fine...Does something works on Origin without spending days to find the problems or it is just *?
