Delete Account

★★★ Newbie

I am about to go through the process of reporting you guys to the Swedish GDPR inspection https://www.datainspektionen.se/other-lang/in-english/the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/ if you don't make it easier/possible to delete an account. You are worse than a casino site. Because the solutions you provide do not work. You end up at a dead-end every time <-- https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/how-to-close-your-origin-account/

I give you a week

Cheers

Hi @nikochii

Deleting an account is not something that we can help with here on Answers HQ, but the EA Help team should be able to do that for you. I just checked out the EA Help website on my side, and it let me go through the normal steps to set up a case. It loaded up all the pages like normal. There might be something that's cached in your web browser that isn't allowing you to proceed further with setting up your case. When you've got a chance try clearing out the temporary data in your web browser to see if you're able to complete the case set up afterward.

Also, we do have help available through Twitter and Facebook as well. The EA Help team on those channels can also assist with account deletion. You can reach them at:

- EA Help Twitter

- EA Help Facebook

Hello again

I tried clearing my cache to no benefit. I still get redirected to your search page

Also I don't have FB or Twitter.

Please run me through the steps again.

It doesn't seem weird to you that so many people https://answers.ea.com/t5/EA-General-Questions/delete-account/m-p/8071454/highlight/true#M319193

have the same issue? Why not just add the option of account termination inside your settings page?

So what is the next step to get my information deleted?

This should allow you to set up a case. I've replicated it again on my side, and for me it's working without any issues. Before anything else I'd recommend making sure that you aren't logged into an EA Account on the Help site. Opening up an private browsing/incognito window may also help.

1. Visit https://help.ea.com/en/ and click on the Contact Us link at the top.

2. Select Origin as the product (this shouldn't matter too much since it's more of an overall account inquiry.)

3. Select PC or Mac (again this won't make a big difference).

4. Choose Manage my Account as your topic.

5. Select Delete Account as the issue.

6. Click the Select Contact Option button.

You should then be taken to the login screen for an EA Account. If you click the link that says Get help from an advisor without logging in that will bring you to a page where you can enter your name and email address. Provide the requested information there and you'll be asked to choose your preferred contact option out of the available methods: email, phone, or live chat.

Let me know if you're still having any trouble setting up a case.
