I recently purchased the Crysis collection from Origin. I installed Crysis 1 and an error message would pop up every time I tried to start it. I then downloaded Crysis 2: Maximum Edition on my computer. When I click the play button from Origin, nothing happens. It shows up in task manager as a background app. I tried downloading twice but had the same issue both times. Have not tried Warhead but I assume I will have the same issue that I had with the original Crysis. Crysis 3 works just fine, but thats only one game out of an entire collection.
I would appreciate some insight into how I could get these games to work without having to uninstall my antivirus, change specs on my pc, etc.
Here is what I have:
Windows 8.1
AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon Graphics 3.20 GHz
8.00 GB (7.90 usable) RAM
64-Bit OS, x64-based processor
AMD Radeon 7800 Series graphics card

Please try a clean boot before starting the game: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Then run the game directly from this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe

Why are you telling him to run the game that is Bin32 when he is running a 64-bit OS? I just had a problem with Crysis Warhead and all I got was a black screen. I then decided to patch it using patch 1.5 and now it has an EA pop up and says I have no internet connection to register the game. LOL Anyway what is the real solution for running these games on a 64 bit OS using Origin? It is it the same fix as people use in Steam? I just got this game to work with Steam using a fix someone shared on their message boards.
Oh and the about the patch I used with Origin well it was from here ...

https://www.howtogeek.com/230773/how-to-play-pc-games-that-require-safedisc-or-securom-drm-on-window... explains what the problem is, although I downloaded and installed "Crysis Warhead_patch0" which bypasses the need for the cd Key. The game then worked perfectly. (I do have the cd keys for my EA Classics Crysis Maximum Edition.)
