Crashing

★★★★★ Newbie
Hey, I just brought sim 4 for pc on my laptop and nothing is working. Origin keeps saying it encounter a serious problem and was forced to close, therefore I can't get to the game at all. And even what it stays up long enough for me to click on my games tab in the origin, there's nothing there. I brought the disc so I really don't understand. Help please it crashes every 3 seconds and the laptop is all i have.

Hi @Kimmie0608

Clear Origin cache https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/origin-my-games-list-is-blank/

Delete temp files: open the Start Menu and type %temp%  in the Search field  or click in the Run option in the Start Menu and type %temp% in the Run field.Press Enter and a Temp folder should open. You can delete all files found in this folder, and if any files are in use, they can be skipped.

Restart your machine.

Perform a Clean Boot  https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/FAQ/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

Run the setup file Origin with Admin rights  http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator/#2

Go in Origin / My Game Library, right click on game icon select Repair.

NOTE Use your serial key or product code to create a digital copy of your game. You can redeem most game codes in the Origin client or Origin.com  https://help.ea.com/en-ca/help/origin/origin/redeem-your-serial-code-in-origin/
