Hi guys,
Thank you all for the quick replies with your DxDiag reports.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like all of you are on dual core CPUs. Dragon Age: Inquisition requires a quad-core CPU.
If you ordered a digital copy of the game on Origin and you absolutely won't have a chance to play the game on a computer that meets the minimum requirements, you can request a refund (granted that you are eligible) here: http://help.ea.com/en/refund/
UPDATE: While it is still the case that a significant number of users posting in the thread are using machines that don't meet the minimum specs for the game, there have been plenty of people whose machines more than meet the requirements who are still reporting this issue. We are investigating these reports and we still urge you to create a hastebin link to your dxdiag and post it in the thread.
However, there are some steps that may help too. First of all, please ensure that your graphics card is updated with the latest DA:I drivers, available from the links below.
Nvidia: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/79891/en-us
AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMDCatalyst14-11-2-BetaWINReleaseNotes.aspx
If you are playing on a laptop, please ensure that you aren't set to a low-power mode and that your card's management software is using your discrete card when you play the game.
When the game goes to the black screen, press Alt & Enter to toggle the game to Windowed mode. Some players are able to play the game in Windowed and Windowed Fullscreen mode without issues.
For more advanced users, the step here regarding disabling cores may help: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-Inquisition/Menu-Freezing-Solution-Quad-Core/td-p/4001333 Note that this is only for more advanced users.
Note that this post is marked as solution solely to increase its visibility. Thank you.

Precisely as OP mentioned.
I hope is not about being less than 4 core.

The problem doesn't seem to be limited to dual-core machines; fleursciortino doesn't have dual-core. And certain dual-cores will be better than the quad-core minimum requirement. Also, according to this, dual-cores should run the game just fine.

dual core can run inquisition really?! yay! its good news but what should i do run for inquisition? TT

Maybe. Might need to be patched. They technically don't have to provide any support for people with dual-cores, though.

Mike Darah from Bioware has said that the computer in question had 2CPU's with 2 cores and that a dual core would not run dragon age. Sorry guys mileysad:

I hope something can be done about this "no dual core support" because "You don't have any games that qualify for a refund right now." :/

I have a QUAD CORE Q9550@2.83 GHZ, GTX560, 4Gb Memory, and i'm having the same issue.
Here oes de DXDIAG:
http://hastebin.com/okeqiluroh.tex
I'm using VPN to connect via Korean servers. And i have a friend wich resides in the same country as mine (Brazil), but he can conect the same way as i do, but he gets no black screen and hes playing right now.
THE PROBLEM:
The game starts fine, goes through the BIOWARE logo, then go to "saving content - do not turn off machine stuff", then goes to the main screen (click to begin), then i click and then (connecting to dragon age servers...). Then the Main menu appears, and right after this, the screen freezes, but the sound continues for a bit longer and then stop as well.
This happen everytime, at the same way, at the same time, in the same screen. Sometimes i can go into the options menu trying to change something but then it freezes nonetheless..
WHen it happens, i check ctrl+alt+del screen and it says the program is running , CPU usage around 80%, memory usage around 70%. No error messages.
Once i ALT+TAB from the game and come back, the black screen takes place and i can't see the soldiers marching anymore.
Waiting for someone to give me a tip from whats happening
